  • What is self storage and how does it work?
    Self storage is a service offering flexible, do-it-yourself storage for domestic and business customers. We provide clean, dry, individually alarmed storage rooms, access to which is available 24/7/365. Your storage room is locked with your own padlock (a full range is sold in our stores), ensuring that only you have access to your goods.
  • Why do I need my own padlock?
    You need your own padlock (A full range is sold in our stores), to ensure that you are the sole key holder for your room and to ensure that your room is securely locked at all times.
  • How much does it cost to store my things with you?
    The cost of a storage room depends upon the size of room that you require. We suggest that you consult our online size estimator, or speak to a member of our staff, to determine the optimum storage size for your requirements. A price can then be quoted on the correct size room.
  • Do I pay weekly or monthly?
    We invoice customers on a four weekly (twenty eight day) basis, payable in advance. However, we only ask for 14 days notice when you vacate your room and we refund to you any unused storage and insurance charge.
  • How can I pay for my storage?
    We offer a number of payment options including credit card, debit card, cheque and cash.
  • How often can I have access to my goods and how much does it cost for access?
    We offer unlimited access to your goods 7 days a week 365 days a year, so you can add to or remove items from your storage room whenever you require. Access is free at Safebox during our opening hours. However if this is not convenient we also offer Extended Access hours (6am to 11pm) which is available for a small charge. 24/7/365 access is also available, details and charges are available on request.
  • Do I have to book a room?
    No, you can fill in your storage contract today and move in immediately. However to be guaranteed a room of a specific size on arrival, it is advisable to reserve your room in advance.
  • Can I move in today?
    Yes, a member of our team will fill in our simple storage contract with you, and then you can move your goods in straight away. You will need to bring with you a suitable proof of identity (a passport); proof of address (a utility bill); and a means of payment.
  • What are your opening hours?

    Our reception opening hours are:
    Monday - Friday 8.30am - 6pm
    Saturday 10am - 4pm
    Sunday closed

    However 24/7/365 access is available

  • Are there any limitations on access?
    When you become a Safebox customer you decide the access times you need. If you need to change this, just give us a call.
  • How do I get my goods to you?
    You can bring your goods in your own vehicle, if you have enough space. We have ample secure car parking and large loading/unloading areas. Alternatively, we can book discounted local van hire/removal companies on your behalf to help with your transportation.
  • Do you do removals/van hire?
    We work together with both a removals company as well as a van/car hire company. Booking them through us results in a discounted rate. We only work with companies we thoroughly recommend and who are our trusted partners.
  • What is the smallest room you have available?
    Our smallest units are one metre cubed lockers (1m x 1m x 1m). Our walk-in storage rooms start from 10 sq. ft.
  • Can I transfer to another room if I find I have too much or too little space?
    You are welcome to move to another size room at any time, up or down and as often as you see necessary.
  • Are the storage rooms heated?
    Our rooms are not heated. However, the temperature within our stores is ambient, notwithstanding the season. Our modern buildings are very well insulated so that our stores are never too hot or cold.
  • What sort of security do you have?
    • 24 hour Digital CCTV located both inside and outside the main building, monitoring all entrances and exits.
    • Top of the range alarm systems for the building and one for each individual storage room.
    • Coded electronic access to the building allowing access only with your own personal access code (gate, shutters and entrance doors).
    • A fire and smoke detection system.
    • Mobile security patrols able to react to any alarm activations.
    • Intruder P.I.R (Passive Infra Red).
  • What is the minimum time I can store with you?
    Our minimum storage period is 14 days.
  • Once I have a room how long can I stay?
    You are welcome to stay for 2 weeks, a month, 2 years - or for as long as you require.
  • Do I have to give you notice to leave?
    We only require 14 days notice of your intention to vacate your room. At this time a refund will be processed for the initial security deposit and any unused monies that you have paid.
  • What can I store?
    You can store almost anything in our rooms. The only exceptions are;
    • Living items - such as animals & plants
    • Hazardous materials - such as flammable liquids and explosives
    • Items that could decompose - such as exposed foodstuffs
    • Unauthorised or illegal goods - such as firearms, drugs etc.
  • Do you sell boxes and packing materials, and will you deliver them to me?
    Yes, we sell an extensive range of packing materials from boxes to bubble wrap. Packing materials can be purchased in person from our stores or you can purchase storage packs online (see boxes and packaging section) and have them delivered to your door.
  • Do you have trolleys available?
    There are a number of different size trolleys and pallet trucks available free of charge for customers use. We also have a forklift truck available for any heavier goods, which can be operated for you by one of our trained staff.
  • Is there someone at the store I can talk to should I have a problem?
    There will always be a trained member of staff available Monday - Saturday every week during reception opening times. Outside of office hours there is an emergency contact number located on our access pad which will connect you with our security company should you require their assistance.
